I found my father's diary from 1979.  I've been entering his observations from the time each week.  Since I missed last week, being obsessed with politics and protests and such, I'm doing a double shot this week to catch up.  Until next week: Enjoy!

Work went well today

And I was hoping to go

To hospital with Mary

But we got company

And didn't get their Mary went in for a few minutes.

From Spring Hill came

And I could not get them

On the phone

So we went down with it.

Stayed for a while

And came home

Not much work to do today

But things went well.


Had some bad pains

For $103.

Sure came at the right time.

Mary & I went to the market.


Watered new plants

& watched T.V.


Chas bought a 66 Chevy today

Got ins with Erie.

Went over town

With Mary

We were looking

For a plant holder

For Ivey

But found nothing

That suited Mary.


I bought some paint

For the front door

Came home and worked

On the flower bed out front

The rest of the day.


I really enjoyed the day.

Had a real good breakfast

Of ham & eggs.


Went out to car wash

And washed the car.

Came home

And waxed the car.

Checked oil & set idoling.

Cleaned the inside up also.


Then I limed the front yard

And put some 5-10-5 on also

Planted two rose bushes

Out by sidewalk

Got up at 4:00 a.m.

And figured my lottery numbers

Layed down on couch

And slept till 7:10 a.m.


Work went well. Berry brought samples

From West Virginia

And P.C. sent over

Quite a few sets of contracts* also

So I had plenty to do.


After work

Dave Beauseniour* came over

And finished my spouting.

He also covered over the hole

Where the birds were getting in.


Peach took radiator off '74 Hornet

With some help from me.


Bonnie Butler brought me some brochure

On their Honda Accord.

Sure is a nice car.

She offered me to drive it

But I didn't.

Perry went to pit

After setting electric furnace

I watched it

Until it needed shut off

With 2" slugs. Paul P. posted a color coded chart

For sick days and vacations.

My chart did not have last Wednesday

Marked as a sick day

So I'm assuming

I'll not be paid for that day. Paul P, Vic and Perry

Took a sign

That Mr. Condon delivered

In the morning to pit.

They were gone till 4 p.m.

What a gross waste of time


Morgan took the afternoon off

To plant a garden.

Wonder if that will be deducted

From HIS pay.

Work went well

But it sure was a dragged out day

In back flower bed.


Picked up Puddy's radiator

At Bailey's.

Didn't have enough money

So I'll have to make another trip

Out again tomarrow.


Maybe I'll be Lucky tonight

And hit lottery big.

I'd sure be so grateful.

About running electric furnace

Today.

That's a help.


Not much work to do

In morning. P-P went down to Jim's Sport Center

And got bats & balls

And a few shirts

He is getting together. I and Perry went up to Brown's

And got Altoona samples.

I spent most of the afternoon

Doing them.


Rainy day

So I am getting monthly bills

Ready to mail.


Some jerk called for Dana

But would not say his name. Mary went to Ivey's

For a while.

As I was nearly out of gas.

And got the lawnmower out

Spent the entire day

Mowing the yard

And getting things looking better I flushed Puddy car block

To trimming up the yard

And had a fire in wood stove.

And Daryl gave me

A bale of hay

So I covered it


Also Mary had her mother

Out for a walk


I do not feel very good today.
